Upgrade Your Home: LiteTouch to LOXONE Smart Automation
Looking to replace your LiteTouch system? See our LiteTouch Replacement Guide for a complete overview of the upgrade process, costs, and what to expect.
Upgrading from LiteTouch to LOXONE is one of the most common projects we do for existing homes. Homeowners are tired of limited scenes, aging keypads, and the reality that LiteTouch is no longer in active development. The good news: you don’t have to rip everything out. Here’s what the upgrade looks like in practice.
Your Existing Wiring Often Stays
LiteTouch used low-voltage wiring for keypads and dimmer modules. LOXONE can work with that same infrastructure in many cases. We assess the existing runs, identify what’s reusable, and plan the swap. The central LiteTouch processor (CCU) is replaced by a LOXONE Miniserver. LiteTouch dimmer modules are replaced by LOXONE Tree devices or equivalent. Keypads become LOXONE keypads or Touch switches. The goal is to minimize demolition and cost while giving you a modern, maintainable system.

What You Gain
One app for everything. LOXONE isn’t just lighting—it’s lighting, shades, climate, audio, and more in a single app. If you add motorized shades or thermostats later, they’re part of the same system. No second app or third-party hub.

Scenes you can change. LiteTouch scenes were typically set at install and required a programmer to modify. With LOXONE you get full admin access. Change scenes, add schedules, and adjust behavior yourself. No monthly fee and no call to us for routine tweaks.
A platform with a future. LOXONE is actively developed. Firmware updates, new features, and a long hardware lifecycle mean the system you install today is supported for years. LiteTouch is end-of-life in practice; LOXONE is the opposite.
The Upgrade Process
We start with an assessment: we review your current LiteTouch layout, keypad locations, and wiring. From there we design the LOXONE configuration and produce a clear scope and quote. Installation usually happens in one or two days depending on size. We swap equipment, commission the system, and train you on the LOXONE app. You leave with the admin password and the ability to manage the system yourself.
